Train Hand Signal Tests and More

We spent another complimentary day at Edaville Railroad. It was fun exploring more of the park! We went down for the Jr. Conductor Weekend. Though we didn’t participate in the extra activities, our general admission provided us with a map for a scavenger hunt. My four-year old son loved it. It added a fun element to our visit!

We had an engineer eye test and learned train hand signals!

We, of course, rode the train too. Since it was Jr. Conductor Weekend, we met one of the train conductors.

We also met some country western visitors. We chatted with them a bit and learned about the Country Western Weekend that Edaville is having August 2 and 3rd with smores, pig roasting and live country western bands all weekend. Come dressed in your best cowboy and cowgirl attire. Make sure to ride the train too as it will be overtaken by a gang of bank robbers, and only you can help find the stolen money! Cost is $20 per person, $17 for 60+, and kids under 2 are free. Includes all of the rides and Dinoland. Sounds like a yee-haw time to me!

It rained on and off during our visit, but when it rained, we just headed inside to the red building where there were trains to play with and more rides to enjoy. So even on a less than ideal day, there was a lot to do.

Have you managed to visit Edaville yet this year? I have to admit, we usually just go down for the holiday festival of lights, but I’m really glad we have enjoyed it during the summer too! It has been a lot of fun, and I’m glad that Edaville is open more summer weekends this year! Make sure to follow Edaville’s Facebook page because they often offer specials and discounts.

  1. I’m thinking it is time to go back to Edaville. Are they still using the maps and flyers with Eva on them? Years ago they asked for a few of my photos and Eva became part of their advertising.

  2. Oh, I cannot wait until baby Brian is old enough to enjoy Edaville! Your kids are absolutely adorable, by the way!

  3. It literally takes 15 minutes to get to Edaville from my house and we are yet to go! Looks like so much fun though so I’m going to have to go soon!
