Santander Soccer Scholars Program

If you haven’t heard about the Santander Soccer Scholars program, then let me share with you this spectacular scholars opportunity. Anytime there is a program that can celebrate academic achievements of kids or the talent of students, I want to spread the word because it gives hope, cause and initiative to a lot of kids. Plus, anytime you can say thanks to hard work, to encourage dedication in a younger generation, it is a worthwhile goal.

For a second consecutive season, the New England Revolution and Santander® are teaming up to promote the value of an education to youth soccer players. Charlie Davies, a New England Revolution Soccer Player, has partnered with his team and Santander® to reward students who are focusing on their education and have a passion for soccer. While he loves soccer, education was also an important part of Davies’ upbringing, which is why he is paying it forward.

Davies, who hails from Manchester, New Hampshire, attended Boston College, where he thrived not only on the kick, but also in the classroom, “Growing up, my parents, teachers and coaches taught me how important it was to be a well-rounded student athlete, so it is incredibly rewarding to be involved in a program like Santander Soccer Scholars that underscores that same message.”

Between now and Oct. 1, 2015, if you have a little soccer fan and want to share his or her academic achievement from the 2014-2015 school year, then use this sweepstakes nomination page: Santander Soccer Scholars. With every submission, parents will enter their child for a chance to participate in a VIP Match Day experience. (Children ages six to 17 are eligible and winners selected randomly.)

The VIP Match Day Experience rewards kids with notable achievements where the student will receive 4 tickets to a designated match, 1 parking pass, photo opportunity with Revolution Forward Charlie Davies, and the opportunity to either be a ball kid, participate on the Revolution dream team, or be the ball carrier (dependent on age).

You can learn more about the opportunity here and check out the Santander Bank Facebook page for other community initiatives and the New England Revolution Facebook page to follow the team’s games and appearances!

I was hosted by Santander at a Revolution Soccer Game in order to learn more about the Santander Soccer Scholars Program. I was not paid for this post and all thoughts, words, opinions are my own.
