Homemade Sugar Cookie Recipe for Cookie Cutters

Sugar cookies are so easy to make, and are perfect for a variety of events like birthdays or various holidays. All you have to do it cut them out using different cookie cutters! Here is a homemade sugar cookie recipe for cookie cutters that my family has been using for years.

Homemade Sugar Cookie Recipe for Cookie Cutters

What You Need:
1/2c butter
1/4c shortening
1c sugar
2 eggs
1tsp vanilla
2 1/2c flour
1tsp baking powder
1tsp salt

How to Make:
Using a mixer, mix together the butter, shortening, sugar, and then add the eggs. Then add the flour, salt and baking powder. Roll into a log, and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill dough for two hours or overnight. After chilling, cut slices from the log or roll it out and use various cookie cutters. Then place the dough on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cook at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes. Then decorate with frosting, or sprinkles.
