Davios Chestnut Hill: A Review

Davios is a new restaurant offering in the revamped Chestnut Hill Mall area. With the addition of new stores, revamped boutiques and fresh restaurants, Chestnut Hill is a shopping and dining destination like never before. One restaurant that I recently dined at was Davios Chestnut Hill. It is located on the second floor of the Showcase Cinemas Luxe.

Dining at Davios Cucina

The restaurant is sprawling, but retains an intimate upscale feel with carefully selected table placement. Many of the tables over look Route 9, making the view a fun one. The menu is varied with appetizers and entrees that range from seafood to steak and pasta to pizza. Thus you can dine at Davios before a show, or for a sole destination. Prices for appetizers, and a carefully cultivated wine and cocktail list, start at $10 on average. Entrees are in the range of $20-35. Dessert is offered on a rolling cart where diners can select their sweet ending to the meal, and a dessert is then made to order.

Davios Chestnut Hill Review

At the time we dined, it was bustling even though it was a Monday night. However, we never felt rushed and the timing between our two appetizers and entrees were perfectly paced. Water glasses were always being replenished and even the foccata bread basket was refilled without the need to ask. Our server was attentive without being intrusive and he was extremely knowledgable about everything from the wine list to the menu. He even made a couple of suggestions to make the dining seamless.

The dinner selections were not unique in creation, but were prepared with perfection. The appetizers, however, were seemingly one-of-a-kind.

Mushroom/Egg/Cheese Appetizer

From spring rolls like Philly Cheese Steak, the paired sauces, and our appetizer of sautéed mushrooms with a perfect texture, a bite of spice and covered with an egg, was like nothing we had tasted before.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our night out.

If you go to the trouble of finding and paying for a babysitter, you want to enjoy your time out, without the kids. This is one place I recommend that is worth the effort and cost with an attentive waitstaff and great food. Definitely put Davios in Chestnut Hill on your list!
