Time for Apples! Belkin Lookout Farm

I cannot believe summer is over and that we are into fall already! The sadness is tempered by the fact that I love the Autumn season and the best fall activity in New England: apple picking! Especially apple picking at Belkin Lookout Farm in Natick, MA.

As I have written about Lookout Farm in the past, it is a hidden gem. Yet, what amazed me on our last trip is the beauty of the place.

The kids always have a blast riding the train to the orchard and then playing in the Play Area. This time year of year, Lookout Farm has hayrides too. They also have pony rides and camel rides (though those are extra fee activities.) But the classic favorite for my kids is the ‘Caterpillar’ ride in the Play Area.

And the Bouncy House:

I love how we can easily pick apples (as well as peaches and plums) from the easy to reach trees.

The place is so beautiful to be in any season, but especially in the fall. They are open seven days a week through the end of October (10-5pm). On weekdays, after 3pm, you can get in for $8 (with the exception of Columbus Day) and kids under 2 are still free. The regular cost is $14 per person ($12 for kids under 12 and free for kids under 2). Fruit costs extra.

All the money goes to support this family farm and you can get a lot of activities out of it. Ride the train as much as you like, see the animals, play in the play area, listen to music or watch a magic show on the weekend, take a hayride, bounce in the bouncy house or ride the caterpillar – all part of the admission cost.

It’s amazing how close Lookout Farm is to all the action on Route 9, etc. Yet, you feel whisked away to another time and place as you enjoy this classic New England pastime, on this classic farm, in Natick, MA.

See you there!
